Know yourself
How you connect: a 2-minute communication style quiz
Also called Wavelength, and Know how you connect
What it does: twelve quick either/or questions about how you think, talk and listen. What you get: your four-letter Wave Code, a card to share, and a side-by-side compare with someone. About 2 minutes, or 10 for the full version
Wavelength shows how you like to talk and listen, so the people around you don’t have to guess. Answer twelve quick either/or questions and get your Wave Code: four letters for how fast you think, whether you start with the big picture or the details, how you say things, and how you take things in. It isn’t a test, and there are no wrong answers.
How it works: about two minutes for your Wave Code, or ten for the full version. Nothing is sent anywhere. details
Mostly tapping. “Just my Wave Code” takes about two minutes. The full version adds how you learn best, what helps you feel understood, and a short note about you to share; all of that is optional. You can also say how your brain works (for example ADHD, autistic or dyslexic), which only changes which options you see first.
Nothing you type or choose is sent anywhere. Your answers stay in this tab until you close it, so a reload won’t lose them. They stay on this device after that only if you tick the box (you can also do it from your results), and “Erase everything” removes them.
What’s in Wavelength
- Your Wave Code. Four parts, each with three either/or questions: how your brain gets going (pace), how you think things through, how you say what you mean, and how you take things in. Each code also has a nickname, like “the Owl” or “the Otter”.
- How your brain works (optional). Neurotypical, ADHD, autistic, dyslexic, highly sensitive, not sure yet, or something else, in any mix. It only decides which options you see first. It’s your own description, not a diagnosis: a doctor or psychologist can do a formal assessment if you want one.
- How you learn best (optional). Nine ways things can click for you: words, numbers and logic, pictures, hands and movement, sound and rhythm, other people, quiet thinking, nature and patterns, and big questions. Pick the ones that help, then your strongest.
- What helps you feel understood, and a short note about you (optional): a warm few lines about how you work best, to share if you want to.
- More to read, if you like: sixteen short chapters written for your answers, each with a few journal questions and one thing to try this week.
The four Wave Code letters
Your Wave Code is four letters. It’s a simple way to describe what you prefer, not a test that measures you, and everyone uses both ends of each line sometimes.
- Pace: Q or S. Q is Quick Spark: you think fast and out loud, and talking is part of thinking. S is Slow Simmer: you process inside first, and your best thoughts often arrive later.
- Lens: F or T. F is Forest: the big picture, patterns and the why come first. T is Trees: the specifics, the steps and the exact details come first.
- Sending: D or N. D is Direct: you say it plainly, and honesty is how you show respect. N is Nuanced: you cushion what you say, read the moment, and may hint first.
- Receiving: E or A. E is Explicit: you take words at face value and want things spelled out. A is Attuned: you read tone, mood and what’s under the words.

Sharing your Wavelength
- Pick a calm moment. Share your Wave Code or your statement as information, not a list of rules: “I wrote this so you don’t have to guess. Would you read it?”
- Invite theirs. Two Wave Codes side by side show where you’re alike and where you’ll want to tune in on purpose, and nobody has to be wrong. “Share my Wave Code” sends a link that opens a ready-made comparison on their side, or you can enter (or paste) their code under “Compare with someone.”
- Sharing one device? Tap “Someone else’s turn” on your results. Your results stay under your name, and when the next person finishes you can compare the two of you right there.
- Update it. Seasons change, and so does what you need. Come back when life shifts.
