One owner per job

Who owns which job, for a household, a team, or a family sharing someone’s care. Give every regular job one owner: the person who does it and sees it through, so nobody has to re-decide who does what every week. A helper or backup, who pitches in or covers on a bad day or a busy week, is optional.

For relationships where everyone feels safe. If anyone is afraid or controlled, see Not safe at home?

The ideas behind it: fix the setup, not the person (a job that keeps slipping is a setup problem, not a character flaw), and notice the quiet incentives. They are two of the site’s Five Pillars, the big ideas everything here is built on.

What you type stays on this device. Nothing you enter in this worksheet is sent anywhere. So you don’t lose it, it is saved in this browser as you type (“Keep a draft on this device” below is ticked for you). On a shared device, untick it, or press “Forget it” or “Erase” when you’re done, and it won’t tick itself again. Also, once you type names, “Use these names in the other tools” under them is ticked, which keeps just the names and the jobs with their owners, only in this browser, so the site’s other worksheets can offer them. Untick it to forget them, and it won’t tick itself again.

When you're done, download the PDF and keep it somewhere private. “Save” keeps it in this browser for next time. To keep a copy somewhere else, or to send it, use “Draft file” and open that file on this page later. Or download the fillable PDF: type into it in any PDF app or print it, then open it here again to pick up where you left off.

Kept in this browser only, never sent. Ticked for you as soon as you type. Best on your own device, not a shared one.
